Food-grade greases are specialized lubricants designed for use in equipment where food processing occurs. To be considered "food-safe," they must meet strict chemical purity standards—primarily fda21CFR 178.3570—and are usually certified by organizations like Nsf International.
The "H" rating tells you where and how the grease can be safely used: [1]
